Questions that come up frequently are “Can CDs be repaired”, “Can DVDs be repaired”, or “Can Video Games be repaired”.

The answer is that Sound Exchange repairs CDs and DVDs. All three Sound Exchange locations can repair most damage. We charge $3.00 per disc for this service. Please understand that discs that have scratches on the top surface cannot be repaired. Discs that have scratched bottom surfaces (the side that plays) can be repaired as long as the scratches are not too severe. Generally our staff can take a quick look at a disc and can advise you of our chances of success. This service is particularly useful for titles that cannot be replaced or are part of an expensive set of discs. FYI, any disc that we purchase that has any marks on them is put through this resurfacing process to ensure they proper play. This is why we can guarantee every item in our stores regardless of price. It is also why we can buy more of your stuff than our competitors as well.

Sound Exchange has been in business over a quarter of a century, and during that time we have seen many competitors come and go. With three stores in the Tampa Bay area, Sound Exchange continues to dominate the local record store scene.

Sound Exchange will buy any disc that we have a market for as long as it is in good condition and we are not overstocked on at that time. Regrettably, there is not a market (buyers) for all CDs and DVDs. We try our best to keep “Supply and Demand” in balance by lowering our selling prices whenever we begin to see more sellers than buyers for a title. However, despite our best efforts, some titles continue to be overstocked as demand is not as great as the supply. Generally we buy around 75% of what customers bring to us. Those that cannot be purchased now can be brought back at a later date in hopes of selling them once we have sold off some of our excess inventory.
