We can still take payment by phone and do curbside delivery for any customers who would rather not come in the store.
We are increasing our maximum number of customers in the store to 10. We encourage you to make an appointment to ensure that you can come in when you arrive. Walk-ups will be accommodated as long as we’re under capacity and don’t have appointments about to arrive. Just knock at the door or call the store. A face mask is still required for in-store shopping.
No appointment needed for curbside pick-up or drop-off of items you want to sell.
Effective Monday, May 11, both stores will be open for in-store shopping by appointment only. Please call the Tampa store at 813-978-9316 or the Pinellas store at 727-545-0042 to make an appointment.
- A face mask is required to enter the store. We have masks on order (hopefully both stores will have them by mid-week). So if you do not have one, we will give you one to use, free with any purchase.
- A maximum of 8 customers per 1-hour appointment slot will be accepted.
We are also expanding store hours to: Mon-Sat 11am-8pm and Sun 12pm-6pm.
Now you can shop with us three ways:
- Make an appointment to shop in-store.
- Make a reservation online and get curbside delivery. (No appointment needed.)
- Place an order online and have items shipped to your home.
And, as always, drop off items you wish to sell for cash or store credit!
GOOD NEWS! Starting Monday, May 4, we will again be able to offer curbside service at the Pinellas store. On Sunday evening, you’ll be able to select Pinellas as your pick-up store again on the website. Pick-up and drop-off hours will remain the same until further notice: Both stores are Mon-Sat 11am-6pm, and Sun 12pm-6pm.

You can still select “Tampa” as your pick-up store to make reservations, pay by phone, and get curbside delivery at the Tampa store. Once the Pinellas store is allowed to provide curbside delivery again, the option for Pinellas will re-appear. Tampa store hours for reservation pick-ups (and drop-offs of items you wish to sell) are Mon-Sat 11am-6pm and Sun 12pm-6pm.
Is your usual pick-up store Pinellas? If so, we have temporarily set it to Tampa here on the web site. We will change it back as soon as the Pinellas store is allowed to offer curbside delivery again.
Pinellas County Resolution 20-23 states that non-essential retail may not have customers on the premises, even for curbside delivery. Therefore, until further notice, the Pinellas store is closed.
All curbside delivery must now be at our Tampa store (14246 N. Nebraska Ave.), or we will ship to your U.S. address. We offer flat $5 shipping, with FREE shipping on orders over $50! And you can still include items from the Pinellas store in your web reservations. (Please note: We do not ship stereo equipment.)
In the coming weeks, our web site will be undergoing enhancements that will streamline the process and allow you to pay online. For now, please go through the current process to make a reservation, and when you call to make payment, staff will find out whether you want curbside delivery in Tampa or would rather have your order shipped to your home.

The Florida Stay-at-Home Order allows Sound Exchange to continue operating as we have been since 3/19/20: closed to the public but available to process orders placed at soundexchangetampabay.com or by phone, with curbside delivery. The details from the 3/19 update below are still valid. We’ll have an announcement soon regarding shipping!
